We are in a situation where our patience is being tested.
Corona throws a spanner in the works of almost all fun activities.
After last week's press conference, I had to cut in half by more than half the meditation course planned for September with 12 participants (and a few more on the waiting list).
And we also just canceled my parents' 50th wedding anniversary party. After all, it's not really a party if half of it doesn't get to be there, or if you have to sit at different tables in the restaurant and yell at each other about how much fun it is (actually not).
Dining with friends in a restaurant is also something we won't do for the time being for this reason.
Cancellation seems to be the new normal.
Of course, partly I like it. Fewer appointments in my calendar also provides another opportunity for creating new things.
And I also like the peace it gives.
Still, I am also a companion animal and miss the freedom of being with others.
There are things in life that are important to you because they are a exhaust valve for your work and for difficult situations in life. Things that allow you to let go of everything for a while.
And pure can its. Laughter.
The restriction of freedom evokes emotions in many people. Not only do I read in the media about riots and escalating demonstrations, but I also just notice on the streets in my neighborhood that people have a shorter fuse.
I may not agree with all the measures that are in place, but I do assume that those who are making decisions are doing their best under the circumstances.
With that conviction it is easier to let go of what I think of it.
I have no control over what the decision is, but I have do control how I deal with it.
Always prioritize your inner peace.
That makes it easier to deal with things you have no control over.
